Casa L4 is located in the private urbanization Emerald Coast, thirteen kilometers north of the city of Pinamar and four hours away from Buenos Aires city. The neighborhood where it is located the batch, Barrio Marítimo II, there is linearly parallel to the sea. A bellows pine middle between the district and the coast, while respecting the 200 meters of withdrawal established by regulation of the provincial.
The house should be used for be used for small stays resting. Likewise, should have the ability to receive guests and be feasible to eventually be rented.
The lot, a dune practically a virgin, it was forested by rows of pine trees. In terms of its topography, its surface decreases in the transverse direction approximately two meters from one end to the other, while longitudinally the relief of the poor gently in the direction of the sea.
The choice of the material to employ is founded on two grounds.
On the one hand, after the previous experience of having built other houses in concrete we knew that this material was able to be kept in conditions over time with virtually no required maintenance.
On the other hand, we believe that colour and texture to establish a dialogue harmonious with the natural environment of the place itself.
With regard to the social area, this should serve as the space leading of the house, spacious, bright, and closely linked with the outside; while the private area should conform four bedrooms as independent as possible, served each by its own bathroom. Our intention was to develop the greater part of the program on a single floor, and have an outer space at a greater height, provided water, from where we can contemplate the stunning natural context. We agree that both the arboreal vegetation as the particular topography of the site formed the riches that the architectural project should be respected.
We wanted the house to stay immersed in the middle of the forest, surrounded by the atmosphere inherent in the place. This was the reason why we decided to remove it from the front beyond the minimum distances regulations. Away from the street, the interior spaces would gain intimacy while its rear would not be harmed, because this lasts visually beyond the limits of batch melting into the pine forest next to the sea.
With the intention of generating a contrast sensory, access to housing, as it is experienced from a half-covered penumbroso by means of a narrow staircase contained between two facings, blind-faced concrete, towards a space bright and spacious: the main floor.
Regarding the setup of this plant, to provide to the bedrooms of the most privacy possible we place them in each of the four angles of a square.
Social activities took place in the central strip. A staircase leading to the roof terrace is situated in the heart of the home, contributing to its spatial organization. Located half of the strip in common use, provided the kitchen-dining on one side and the other, defining and maintaining these two spaces functional and visually connected.
The equipment of the bedrooms and their respective bathrooms were pulled out from the walls of the perimeter of the closure.
Side topographically higher, where the platform of the main floor supports on the natural terrain, the enclosure side is reduced to a wall hanging opening to the external environment through a great raja longitudinal low, protecting the spatiality inside the visual of the lot adjoining.
In the end most depressed of the batch in which the house takes off approximately two meters from the level of the natural ground, the side closure is formed by a low wall with an opening linear high.
Both of these solutions allowed to generate visual and exterior spaces, naturally lit while preserving the intimate nature of their spatiality interior.
While the sides were closed by walls, blind, fitted with horizontal slits, both the enclosure of the front as in the rear facade were resolved by means of a closure transparent, by taking all the width and the height inside of the volume, addressed the views and framed the visual. On the rear facade, through the opening of the woodwork, the interior space is extended by expanding into the deck, half-covered and unificándose with the outdoor space.
The malleability own concrete allowed to conceive of the staircase as an element of sculptural character self. With the same plasticity expressive worked the walls that divided the bedrooms of the central sector generating, on both sides, ledges and niches that officiated furniture support fixed.
In relation to the lighting of the home, given the depth of your plant, it was decided to strengthen the natural lighting from the deck.
The central area of the social sector is bathed in sunlight through a prism glass which houses the main staircase. Joined rajas linear on the interior walls that delimit the space in a kitchen-dining room, looking to build on the surface of these walls the effect of the different sweeps of natural light throughout the day. Also, the bathrooms were illuminated using lucarne flat on the spaces of shower.
The structure was solved by a large slab supported by a system of inverted beams supported on partitions located in the interior of the plant and metal columns arranged on the side closures forming part of the enclosure of aluminum. With the object of emphasizing the horizontality of the house, and lessen their visual impact, both in the front as in the rear facade of the structural system of beams was upper level must be recessed with respect to the line of enclosure, generating cantilevered floor slabs that officiated sunscreens.
From the floor to the roof, embraced by the tops of the pine displays a quiet space of contemplation. Thanks to the transparency of the stair case can be seen in all directions. Covered by a wooden deck and provided by a sector of a shower and two pools next to each other, this lofty space was erected as a lookout point facing the sea.
In the middle of a piece of nature we had a box built oradada in such a way that would allow the outside to flow in and out through it, making it part of the environment, merging and vibrating in harmonic consonance with him. Through his synthesis space and the character stripped of its materiality we try to keep the house, waking up feelings and would enhance the senses of the people who lived in this exchange is the mystical that sometimes arises between people and things.
